akai s series

What the "xl" means? For example, what the difference between akai s3000 and s3000xl?

xl stands for "XTRA LARGE". Nah, but all jokes aside...it was the added features that distinguished it from the others.

Now what those features consisted of, I couldn't tell you at the moment.

as I understand it, the S3000XL had lots of expansion options which the S3000 didn't, e.g. the ability to add scsi devices (internal or external) and the ability to add extra memory, effects and filters.
