I READ THE MANUAL FOR THE MIXER, STILL COULDN'T GET IT ALL TO WORK :(

Ok so I have a mixer but i'm not sure how to integrate all my equipment together. I have the Mackie 802VLZ and what I want is to have the mackie run output audio to my two studio monitors. I want my pc to have its output go to the monitors (through the mixer) i also want my mpc to have the output go through the mixer to the monitors. I have a Firewire Profire610 interface with protools m-powered on my pc. I'm not sure if that makes a difference in the hookup. I also want to be able to record things through the mixer into the mpc. But the pc recording ( my mic) is gonna go through profire610 into the PC. So here's the list as a whole:

Mackie 802VLZ mixer
Desktop PC with profire 610 interface
Two studio monitors
MPC 1000

1. output goes through mixer to studio monitors from both mpc and computer
2. mixer can record into mpc.
3. profire 610 is used for recording into pc.

So basically if im playing some music from my pc, i want sound to come out from my studio monitors
If im running protools and playing tracks want sound to come out from studio monitors

Yea that was probably redundant but i'm really burnt out so yea...
PLEASE HELP

hope i can get this working for ya dude

try this

have your monitors hooked up to your mackie, and have the mackie set up inside your computer as the main PLAYBACK device and then set your profire 610 as your main RECORDING device.

this way, everything playing back on your computer (pro tools, itunes, the internet, etc) should play through your mackie and out of your monitors. then, record using your profire 610. whatever your recording though, should still playback out of your mackie & monitors.

hope i helped a bit

busted, huh? Truthfully, I wasn't sure what you were asking.

I think he wants:

A) both the mpc and computer to run into the monitors
B) wants to record from the computer to the MPC
C) wants to record the MPC to the computer

all at the same time...

without disconnecting cables or rewiring anything.
