i have used alesis mk2 active....pretty good sound and nice for the price..
If you can afford the actives of any of those monitors then get them...the amps in them are made especially for the speaker and housing and are very well balanced. Do a search on google and find an article on the difference between actives and passives...that should give you a good idea.
also take in some of the music you listen to and compare them all in the shop side by side...our ears respond differently too. Thats what i did and ended up with something that worked for me...although the mackie 828 sounded pretty kick arse.
