Incorrect sync w. MPC4K and Logic 8 (only some projects)

Something has happened to my sync, the MPC has started to lag, from nowhere, no settings changed since it worked perfectly. If i open a new project, the sync works fine, for a while, til i record a couple of tracks and the MPC starts to lag again.

I can´t understand how this issue has come from nowhere or how to solve the problem.

Has anybody had the same problem and know what it could be?? Plz help!

All sync settings in logic and mpc are proper, they ve been working for ever, except for now..


Can i reset something?? clean up some HD space in the macbook? (almost full)
(logic projects are on external HD)

That could be your problem right there. Is this your o.s. drive?

Yea, it´s my OS and Logic drive.

When recording in Logic, does it record to mac HD first and then move the files to the external HD? or does it record directly to the external HD?

Im trying to remove some cache and HD space. Hopefullt it will work...Had problems sleeping this night because of this shit If my setup don´t work properly, I dont work properly...

What do you think about **** around a little bit with the "Sequence start" option in the MPC Sync settings?
If i have a kick going in the MPC on the first bar for an example, the kick comes about 0.4 secs after the logic metronome at the same BPM.

Logic MMC didn´t transmit to the MPC. Checkin "transmit" on that option solved this problem. Damn.....

I see MMC (midi machine control) has come a long way from the days of just controlling mdm's and whatnot.

PROBLEM NOT SOLVED!!

It get´s out of sync again and again.. workin for about 5 minutes when checkin "transmit mtc" then it gets out of sync, then workin again for a while when uncheckin "transmit mtc".. It syncs for a little while everytime i change something in the logic sync prefs..

When going back to old projects where i know the sync has been working using MIDI Clock, the sync works for a while, then the MP starts to lag again.

The MPC also acts a little funny, sometimes when pressing play on the MP it plays no sound as if the track was muted when its not.

I think its the MPC4000 that is the problem in this sync issue. I use OS 1.71. Should i try to install another OS? Which one is the most stable?

I cant believe the problem would be Logic 8... Ima try switching to my 2000XL later and see if it has the same problem..

Have you tried adjusting the MTC frame offset in Logic?
