OK here it is. I have a MPC 5000, a usb axiom 25 keyboard, an MBOX 2, an a macbookpro. I have reason 4 as a sound module. So far I have it all connected right. I have the mbox selected in preferences>audio for audio output. In preferences>keyboards and control surfaces I have my mpc 5000 checked as use with reason and the master keyboard input is set to standard. In preferences>advanced control i have external control bus A set as usb axiom 25 port 2. My axiom is hooked up to my mpc, my mpc is hooked up to my mbox, and my mbox is hooked to my macbook. I turn on my keyboard, then the mpc, then I open reason. I set my mpc to midi 1A. In reason I add a mixer and a module such as SubTractor. In reason I set the advanced midi device in channel 1 as the SubTractor. Now when I press the keyboard or the MPC I can hear the sound and I can see it in my mixer on reason. My problem is in the sequencer window the keyboard to the left highlighted in red does not flash green. When I try to record the midi notes into reason it does not work. Why does it show in the mixer and not in the sequencer window. I have the track record enabled too. I thought about sequencing on the mpc but in the end i will still have to go back to the mac to record so it will be studio ready. If anybody can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated. I also went on the Akai website for connecting the MPC to reason. I can control reason playback and record functions with my mpc but reason still will not record the midi notes

sounds like you are all set up to record that midi onto the MPOC sequence(r)

to record into reason you'll have to create a midi device for the mpc......(just like you do with the axiom)

sounds like your scenario you are using the mpc more as a controller than the main brain/sequencing device.....

I have my midi out b on my mpc going into the midi in on my mbox. Like i said, the mixer in reason is registering that a signal is going thru and i can hear the instrument that i have loaded up in reason. My only problem is that it is not recording on the track that i have enabled to record. Not audio (which i know i can't record) but the midi
