the XL keys do have a matte finish though... so dreamy!

I don't know about the XL, but the original MicroKorg = the shit. Haters need to learn to turn some knobs and get off the presets.

Same with the XL. It is a Korg product after all... lather all the presets in FX... half the battle is just tweaking a couple FX presets so it settles in the mix.

I totally agree. What I was getting at even moreso, however, was that you can initialize any patch and boom - basic square, saw, sine, triangle, whatever wave, and work with it. Just like ANY other synth that imitates an analog. People act like you can't do shit with it because it's got small keys but unless you're playing with your elbows I can't see how it's such a dealbreaker that people are gonna trip on it.

Yeah, besides... pair it with any sequencer and you don't even have to play that well as you can just undo/erase.
