Reassign midi notes on MPC 1000 for Oxygen 8 controller

i have the oxygen 8 controller keyboard and i use it with my mpc 1000 and i find that each key on the controller is assigned to a random pad on the mpc. i have been told to reassign the notes on each pad on the mpc but i cant get this to work. any ideas on what would make this work so that pad A1 is controlled by the first key o n the controller and A2 by the second key and so on and so on....??

please anything ive been tryin for a few months to make this work well with my setup and if i could do this then it would be ill

I use this same set up and it works fine. Make sure you are not just re assigning the the pads in program mode because that is only saved with the program. So if you change programs it goes back to default. So change the default pad settings. You can then assign A1=36(C1) A2=37(C#1) A3=38(D1) etc. Here are the instructions from the manual page 66.

01. Press the [MODE] key and then the [PAD 9] (MIDI/SYNC).
You can enter the MIDI/SYNC mode.
02. Press the [F3] (NOTE) key.
The NOTE page will be displayed.
03. Select the desired pad by hitting it.
The note number of the selected pad will be highlighted.
04. Select the note number with the DATA wheel.
In the upper right corner of the screen, the MIDI GM standard name of the drum, which represents the
selected note number, is displayed.
To reset the setting to the default, press the [F6] (RESET) key. All the notes assigned to the pads will be
reset to the default setting.

yo thanks to all of you who posted in this especially guitman. i got the controller to work just as i wasnted and now i can make shit mad easy.

somthin i like about the keys versus the pads on the mpc.... i dont know why
