I sampling from my Daw to my MPc 1000,s950,s2800. I am coming out of the Daw at -6db and coming into the Akais around 10-11 oclock. This is where I find the best results for all of them. But for some reason I am getting a crackling/static sound.

My audio interface is +4db.

So what does the Akais inputs accept. Line level +4db or -10db line level? And even if I have the outputs coming out of the DAW at -6db out of Protools Master buss does it really matter if my interfaces outs are +4db or -10db?

A DI doesn't help cause it converts to Mic level which makes me have to crank the MPC pre too much and is not a option. And I dont have matching Pres to run into before hitting the MPC. So whats the deal?

Anyone sampling from there Daw?

By the way when I play the Raw sampling through my system no crackling,so its not my wav file, interface,or monitors. And different Akai modules at different input level have different results as far as the amount of static but its still there for all of them.

not sure but try turning the levels down just a bit on each piece AND check your connections, make sure they are in all the way. thats happen to me before

make sure ground is connnected securely, sometimes it might appear connected but not make full contact....is static present when the needle is off record, or only once you place the needle on the record ?
