Do you think the MPC is tighter - triggering internal or ext

Simple..use the mpc as a pimped out MIDI controller/ sequencer. One track at a time. Don't make it so complicated. I use my 5k to trigger cubase,reason and logic. One track at a time. Using it as a midi controller for vsts...priceless.. make a a simple 4 track beat in your daw using a MIDI controller/keyboard. Now make the same patern with the same kit using the mpc to trigger.. notice the BOUNCE and head bob factor... use it like it is supposed to be used. A sequencer. A hardware sequencer. Play a vst string synth with the mpc sometime. Chunky .....
Breakers? Sampling is novice..making one with latch functions and gate,swing, note settings like 1/4-3 or 1/8-3 ..pro... good luck just do you.
