lol . well ive been doing much research these past few weeks on alot of elements that effect sound.. and one im worried about the most is isolation foam.considering i just got som ebirthday money, im going to look into buying some foam to somewhat control the dynamics and acoustics of my room. now

what is the best foam for mixing a record? im getting a vocals isolation pad for my mic so foam for that isnt a problem.. but i heard the pyramid foam is good for mixing purposes? what are your guys thought??

Build your own using rockwool and wood - much more cost effective than shop bought foam - there are guides all over the internet and youtube about how to do this - easy enough if you don't mind a bit of basic DIY

For bass trapping - good wedge acoustic foam is ideal for corners etc - but for broadband absorption - home made rockwool panels are easy and cheap.

In the most recent issue of Sound On Sound there's a very good article about DIY acoustic treatment, focusing mainly on environmentally friendly solutions. The article may well be availble online, if not I may scan it for the use of forum members.
