Couple questions for those who would know. Searched as best I could but got too vague results.

Are hd's more reliable than zip?
Can anything like the click of death with zips happen with a hd?
Any reason I should get a zip over a hd?

At the moment I don't see myself having to transfer files over to a computer from my XL any time so the way I see it I should look at a hd.

Anyone have problems with a hard drive on their XL?

HD is the way to go. I messed with zips and floppies, but the HD I got spanks the $hit out of both of them.

I bought a 4.3 GB HD from scsiforsamplers.com and I couldnt be happier.
No errors, no click of death, loads and saves 50x faster than floppy, hella reliable, built like a tank, not one problem in almost a year.

I take it to live shows and it gets beat up in transit back and forth and still---zero problems.

Get a HD, I HIGHLY recommend it. At mpc2000xl.com, dude even shows a mod you can make so that you can install an INTERNAL HD, which would be the poop (if I knew anyhting about soldering or electronic mods).

I have a 100mb zip(in the drive bay) and also have my 2000xl scsi'd to a 5.0gb hard drive. No problems at all!

I got a external 4.5gb SCSI HD on my 2kxl also and it's VERY nice to have. It is better than ZIP for sure..
