MPC 2000XL and Korg Triton Classic

Before you all shoot off and reply "read the manual" i have.

Im sequencing on the XL and i have 2 tracks set up for MIDI on deviceA 1 and deviceA 2 also the programs set. on the Triton i have the first instrument set 2 a piano and the second to a synth. I have recored to riffs for play and when i change there patches they always revert back to a piano sound. What am i doing wrong ?.

How do you guys set up for instruments on the Triton in use with the MPC ?

you have to be in performance mode, or the tritons equivalent.

try that first. besides midi in to out & out to in (2 cables).

i feel your pain coz i used to be midiretarded.

you have to set it(Triton) in Sequence(SEQ) mode...and you prolly should mute the 1st track....IMO

seq mode. i'd also get familiar with the screen where you can change the midi channels for each track. that way you can create psuedo combi's by sharing midi channels and layering. (although i dont remember, but im not sure if on the classic triton you can copy combi's to seq mode).

Damn, I miss my triton combi mode, wish they still sold the extreme new.........
