Hi!

Just bought a MPC 3000 on ebay and I'm thinking what would be the best way to use it along with my MPC 2500.
The only problem is that it has a Floppy drive and I don't have a SCSI drive.

Option 1: MIDI: MPC 3000 as MIDI Master, MPC 2500 MIDI Slave. Audio: Samples of vinyl in to the MPC 3000 then resample into the MPC 2500 where I would chop them up, same thing with the drums and then trigger the sounds with the MPC 3000.

Option 2: Sample and chop samples & drums sounds on the MPC 3000 and then record sequences on to the MPC 2500.

Any other good ideas?

I guess option 1 looks pretty nice cause I would get the swing and sound of the 3000 and still have the editing options & HD of the MPC 2500.

Hit me with opinions!

Thanks

I suggest doing the drums and bass notes in the 3000.... and do the rest on the 2500 if you absolutely need to use both at the same time. honestly running all samples through both machines seems not to great and double to work for the same accomplishment.

Better off using this thread than starting a new one just for YOU.

option 2 if you just want the sound, but if you want the swing then use the 3k as the master seq'er
