Kinda...The 100 sounds better imo, it's grittier..dirtyer sounding woot woot

The TX81Z is 8 part multi timbral but most of all has different operator waveforms unlike other FM synths which only have sine waves

'Kinda'... 'like'.... I think we're on the same page.

I'll never understand calling an fm synth dirty though!? ;]

So the dx100 doesn't have the weird waveforms? sine only?

Point is...genesis sounds = 4op fm (generally, kinda, like, [insert other qualifiers here]...).

Man the aliasing and noise the 100 gives out is mental especialy compared to other DX/TX synths, the only other ones that are as shi* are the DX-27 and FB-01
Poor quality 12 bit DAC's FTW lol The TX had a much more improved output stage, this was even listed in the features...even the DX-21 had better sound than the DX-100.

I was going to post some sound examples of patches that I did in the 100 and dumped in the TX but then I couldn't be arsed...then the DX-100 broke, but thing is they sounded totally different.

Yea DX-100 is sine only operators

I might sound a little mad but I think DX-100's sound different hahah I had 3 so far...first synth I ever had I stole it from my school and it was beat up...sounded amazing but gave it away (At the time they were worth nothing), got another latter which broke, this one was mint but it's probs just me but it didn't sound as crazy as the beater one....third one is my mates and he found it in a bin....she sounds great! (When it don't crash! lol)

Managed to sample it in all it's glory and stuck it in the 3200XL, everything is DX other than the B-Station lead

I got a DX9 given to me 7 years ago. I use it all the time and really like how it sounds. It's a nice contrast to analogue.

yeah I think I saw one of your videos for the rack unit... which has the advantage of a cheap selling price around here... while you can get dx10s for like 200-300 or so... I never used to like the way those sounded so I never really looked at those.... but more recently I have kind of started liking that metalic fm sounding sh!t... so I have been sampling the genesis to get the sounds I wanted.
