How would you use the mpc 500 with Protools ?

basically, ive had my mpc 500 for a little over a month and have been making pretty solid beats on it so far, and then just recording them onto audacity using an interface. However i have been thinking about getting protools so I can have full control over my beat and eventually add vocals and keyboards and live bass.

I watched a video of a guy doing exactly what i want to do (track out each track on the mpc). I'm pretty sure that is pro tools but if its not let me know.

how would i go upon doing this and what would i need? do you have to midi your mpc with protools to do that and play right onto the software or would i just use my interface? Please help, thank you

You would have to sync the MPC500 to your computer for correct timing. Then record a track at the time into your daw. You an only synchronize the MPC500 by MIDI, so you have to figure out how to do it. It doesn't matter if your daw or your MPC is the master. Good luck:

You're not the first person to ask about using Pro Tools with an MPC.

If you could be arsed to look, I'm sure you'd find all the information you need.

Don't forget those things called books and manuals, they serve a useful purpose.
