Hum!!!!!

im starting to believe in higher forces in nature such as indian burial grounds alien encounters bigfoot and other things because Ive tried everything that the internet says as well as every opinion and suggestion from everyone in any music store in the GTA. thanks

Looks to me like you've got a piece of sick gear somewhere. If you know which piece it is, maybe do some diagnosing, open it up, & check the power transformer or power source.

Or better still, take it to a repair shop & have them check it out for you.

I really dont think its the equipment this is why. They are all new first of all. I opened the boxes on all of it. Everything works properly when I bring the equipment upstairs in my house. It just makes the hum or buzz when Im in my room in the basement no matter which outlet I plug the equipment into in the house. I just finished running a long extension cord up stairs into every socket just to make sure 1st just the cable 2nd I put the power conditioner inbetween all had hum. Move the mixer upstairs and no more hum. So shitty. pulling my hair out trying to get this to work!

Well, if you knew how to trace the wiring for your room, you could check & see if there's a ground wire provided from the source outlet feeding the other outlets.

It would be more like a 3 wire parallel wiring setup. The copper ground wire is probably not connected thus creating the hum that you're experiencing.

a multimeter should tell you if your outlets are grounded. although i've never had the balls to stick a multimeter into a live power socket. there are instructions online and videos.

Ok so I still have the hum I have turned off every breaker in my breaker panel leaving just one breaker on to run my mixer the hum is still there. I plugged it into the other basement room on a different breaker the hum was still there. I have cancelled out running my gear off batteries because its just too expensive and I still dont know if that would fix my problem. Would it help if I put a new outlet on its own dedicated breaker switch just for my music gear? Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can try next? I am all out of ideas. Hmmmmmmm?

I solved my issue by taking back the Shure SM58 and buying a Condenser Mic instead Instant relief ohhh yes.
