Hi, I have a MESA problem that I didn't see addressed in the other forums, if I missed it please direct me to the right thread.
I got an old SCSI mac to use Recycle 2.0 and MESA to talk to my S3000XL. After some minor SCSI headaches I got them happily conversing trading sounds etc. My problem began when I used CDXtract to load some generic Akai s1000 disks into my mac, CDX has a converter especially for MESA. Well, actually there was no problem there, everything looked like it loaded fine. The problem is when I try to load a program from MESA into the s3000xl an error message pops up telling me the samples must be in the same folder and in AIFF format. Went to the offending folder and everything was there, the program (an .s3p file) and all associated sounds in .aif format. Went back to MESA and tried again, same error message. I thought CDXtract was screwing up but just to check I went to import sample, chose the AIFF option and all the sounds were right there and I could load them into the sampler just fine.
I feel like there is something very simple that I am overlooking here but I didn't see anything in the manual about this.
I can drag and drop a bunch of .aifs at once no prob but I loaded like 50 programs and all the samples into my samples folder and they all have names like C-7L or whatever and sorting this all out would be a major headache when I just want to call up a crappy piano sound. To make that easier I could delete everything in the folder then go back to CDX and spend a whole afternoon creating individual folders for all the programs and load them one by one, neither solution is exactly workflow conducive.
I usually use the sampler for loops so it's not like this is gonna come up everyday but my word it's annoying. Is it possible to use Recycle for this or does that just chop?
