MPC-2000XL and S950 compared with a couple of other samplers

For my soundengineering education i'm doing a comparison of the converters in a couple of awesome samplers. so if you care to spare a couple of minutes and want to help a fellow fellow I would really much appreciate it.

yes i know its a bit wierd to compare quality at bad quality lol but i wanted (kinda desperately and in the last minute)
to reach people like you that are into samplers and this was with lots of other stuff to keep in mind my quickest and easiest way to reach people. at least the crappiness is equal to all the versions.
anyone know where can i upload a higher quality version for free?

So how did you get all that sample time out the SP-1200? Did you actually re-make each beat on every machine using raw short samples or did you just sample a loop or what?

Personally I don't buy this... No5 I guess is what you call SP-1200 only I don't think the SP sounds like that, sounds just like you put a bit crusher on something in a DAW

this was for my final essay for my soundengineering education and i think perhaps maybe the skilled teachers wouldve noticed if i used a vst-plugin instead of real hardware.
essay is done and i appreciate all people who gave me their time and opinion.

youre totally right VJ those samples wouldnt have fit together on the SP-1200 at the same time, the other samplers could carry them though.
how the procedure went down is;
thirteen samples was used, six cut out chops from a song and one bass-sample and six mpc-drumkit-samples, each sample were prepared (no processing, just trimmed) in the pc and then only sampled once then recorded back into the pc and then sequenced. this comparison focused on nothing but the sound of the converters and none of the other supercool sampler-features like filters. which would have been ofcoarse used differently for different type of sample in a 'real' situation. but that would have been to much for this test. half of the essay focused on what people thought, and half was an analysis and a comparison of the frequency spectrum.

i've put down in what order the samplers appear in the soundcloud comment line, its not cool that its at bad quality tho... so soon i'll make a torrent for folks to download, i just gotta share this experience of listening at it in good format.

and oh, ofcoarse i'll share the survey results:
put roughly:
the ultra sampler got more votes on which one sounds the best, but it was just one vote more than sp1200, s950 and mpc2000 that shared the second place, the yamaha and the roland and the original only got one vote each.

on the which version do you like the least question most folks voted sp1200, and then s950 and then the unprocessed original.
the mpc2000 along with the yamaha su700 got no votes for this question. so i guess youre on to something good here at this forum

on which has the lowest bit quality question almost half of the people guessed right it was the sp1200, well s950 has 12bits too but higher samplingfreq so that was kinda spot on there.

on the question which version has the highest samplingfreq, s950 got the most votes! but by its heels followed by the right answeres sp404 and the ultra sampler.

i guess thats the questions thats interesting to show.

on the one can you name a sampler most guys answered no and the ones that did was way off.
