yo fam, i have a ortofon concorde dj s right now, and i was wondering when do you need to change the turntable stylus? i've actually dropped the arm on my table before and it has skid on the record label before too, what i get for playing records while i take a shower. i hear the stylus is actually diamond so it is pretty durable. drop some knowledge thanks!

amen.
also, it might stop holding the groove tight...skipping more often.

in the worst case, it will just quit picking up one side, cause a lot of static, low output, etc etc...
The tricky part is, all of these symptoms can be caused by any number of things in your signal chain (turntables are not idiot-proof), so you really have to do your homework to figure out if it's the needle. swap the heads, swap cables, swap mixer channels - try to isolate the problem.

I had to change mine when I started hearing the plastic part grinding on the record and I knew that couldn't be good
