just ordered some XLR M/F & XLR/TRS cables from there, for a great price. Four 6' cables for $30+s&h. After going to Guitar Center and seeing the prices on the xlr cables over there.. they are crooks. ive spent like $150 on cables just to get my 1k all wired up in the past month just on like 6 trs, an rca/trs, and a few midi cables from there..

idk buying the same cables from GC would have been round $60-70..

Yeah the cable game is usually a rip off. I got a pair of spdif cables from monprice's ebay store a while back. Haven't had a need to order anything else, but I probably would order from them again.

Yeah it is. I spent $40 on 2 1/4" cables when I first got my mpc back in 06, but got a spool of mogami cable and some neutrik connectors for that from redco back in like dec. Even with my bs soldering skills it wasn't that hard.

Somebody posted Monoprice in the thread about using a CF Card in place of the hard drive. I am shopping their site right now too because I have to buy all new cables for eveything. Let me know how you like their stuff.

my cables came in yesterday, and i cant really tell any difference in audio quality versus these live wire & monster cables i have.. i wish i would have known about this site from the get go..

everything feels high quality not the monster cable quality but just as good as these live wire cables i clearly overpaid for.. the wires are fat and feel rubbery. i like em overall and most likely will be doing my shopping from here on out..

I've got HOSA too. Good sound quality, and they feel pretty good. Basic cables.

What about the fraud investigation at monoprice that happened March of last year ('10)?

I read on consumerist.com and some other websites that some people who paid for items on monoprice.com using Paypal had some mysterious charges show up on their credit card bills a little later.

Just Google "monoprice" and the articles from last year show up: http://consumerist.com/2010/03/monopric ... ation.html

I really need some cheap cables but I've avoided monoprice because of these fraud concerns. Has anyone had any issues with them?

I wonder if it's safe to order from them now.

Monoprice is the truth. Been using them since about 06-07. And not just for cables, but also flatscreen wall mounts. Never had an issue and never broke my wallet. Actually just bought a new firewire cable for my 003 last week for $5 shipped, while Best Buy is charging $30 in store for the Dynex brand.

That was me a couple years ago. I had that Roland 8 track recorder that had the hard drive take a shit. So I installed a CF to IDE adapter in the hard drive connector and put a CF card in it and sold it. This also works with the MPC 1000, 2500, and 5000.
