yup peeped that a while ago, the mpc60 is the best sounding machine to me, then the 3000.

yea I saw that awhile ago too. The one thing I remember is that one set of the samples was recorded much louder. I don't remember which sampler it was on, but it really threw me off when I was trying to do A/B.

It is possible to make an MPC 2000xl sound like an SP or an S950 but not the other way around.I can dirty up sounds real easy on my MPC but it is impossible to clean up the dirt of an SP.

To me the samples do sound different compared to each other but not accurate for what it's supposed to be.

The SP-1200 samples are missing that little ping in the sound that you get with the SP.
You know the sound, it reminds you of a slight ring mod.

The S-950 doesn't sound quite thick enough to be from a 950 (or MPC-60).

This is all using the MPC-2000xl samples as a point of reference since it should be close to the sound of the original.

Just seems that the SP and the 950 sound too clear and clean.
