I want to thank you for the advise. What we ended up doing was scrap the 2000 and Cubase all together. We went the mpk88 and reason/record route. He cam do all the composing then bounce the tracks for me to pull up in pro tools. With the mpk having that mpc feel and reason's block mode, its just like having an mpc to him.
