Computer and mpc

Trying to figure out how to get started with MPC and computer. Can I use the computer to transfer sounds to the MPC or should I get zip drives for both pieces of equip. Also would some monitor speakers be necessary I can I just use headphones for now.

alrigt let me tell u somethin. u could just transfer sounds via floppy disk but that might take a while. and monitoring. what kind of headphones do u have. if they're tru monitoring headphones, stik wit em. If they're like cd player headphones. get some monitors. some i recommend are Event TR5-N Tuned Powered Reference Monitors. I got Genelecs but the run for alot. THe events are $300. Theyre pretty decent.
