I want to record the midi performance on the MPC 1000, so that i can edit the notes, shift them, etc.

I have a MicroKorg that Im using to play my Sound Module, but I dont know if Im suppose to plug MIDI from the sound module or the mK, to my MPC 1000, to record the notes.

Currently...I have all 3 machines, the MPC, MicroKorg and the Sound Module's AUDIO OUTPUTS, into their own seperate channel on my mixer.

For the MIDI, I have...

MIDI OUT of the MicroKorg ---> Into MIDI IN 'A' of my Sound Module

the next step is my problem, where do i plug my MPC 1000 at, to record the MIDI, so that I can re-arrange notes, etc.?

MK: MIDI OUT -> MPC: MIDI IN
MPC: MIDI OUT -> SOUNDMODULE: MIDI IN

Now you can play the sound module via MK and/or MPC and when you turn on REC on MPC it'll rec the notes you play.

What mtc said, but also turn on the MIDI soft thru on the MPC (not sure if it's on by default) and you can play the sound module with the MK real-time, even when not recording.

Just make sure whatever setting you set for the soft thru matches which MIDI ports and channels you have stuff plugged into.
