Opinions on trading a Tascam M3500 for a Project Mix and ADA

Hey, what's up? I got a Tascam M3500 a while ago for super cheap. And I love it a whole, whole lot, but I kind of don't have the room for it, plus, it's kind of a pain doing so much patchwork, going from recording down into mixing down, if that makes sense.

Anyway, a dude wants to trade me a project mix i/o and an ADA8000 straight across for my Tascam.

My current set up goes like this - I have an MPC5k, S950, Z8, XV3080, Virus B and Novation X-Station all going through the Tascam and into a DPS24. I use a computer as a sound module, and right now it's got 2 adats into my DPS. I like mixing on the Tascam, but to be honest, I do it less than I'd hoped I would. I like the physical knobs for all of my mixing, but upon my reading, I know the project mix can d othis, it just requires a little menu diving. I don't THINK I'll mind this, as I already mix all my acoustic stuff (I write a lot of punk music) on the DPS, which is the same thing.

My ultimate goal is to get a Mackie 1640i, since it'll fit in my rack (desk space is a pain) so I figure I'm heading towards computer recording, I'm just kinda hesitant to do it (and I love my DPS so, so much).

So yeah, I've got a few days to mull it over. Any opinions/things I might be missing?

just had a look at what the tascam m3500 is....**** a duck! that thing is massive.

how about sell the m3500, buy the Mackie 1640i and keep the DPS24?

the trade doesn't seem that good a value to me. but i don't really now those bits of equipment.

i'm planning on buying the Mackie 1640i -- just waiting for a cheque.

Yeah, it is huge. I put it on craigslist to try to sell, but even at 800, I'm having a hell of a time getting any interest. This is person 2 in 4 months, type of thing. If nothing else, I figure those 2 boxes would be easier to sell and cover about half a 1640i?
