Any suggestions for a USB Audio interface for when the REN is not hooked up?

I am running Windows 7 and want to be able to work on arrangements in Sonar X2a when not having the REN around. I want something small, but ASIO performance is more important.

Is there an AKAI product that is essentially the soundcard portion of the REN?

RME Babyface.

The GUI/Software takes time to get used to but its worth it in the end.

I also have the Duet 2(MAC ONLY) that I use strictly for bedroom listening off the Macbook ..

call up sweetwater and ask to talk to a sales rep and see if they can steer you in the proper direction.

Presonus AudioBox 22VSL is a good choice, it doesn't cost too much (GC has it for $169). It has built-in compression, limiting, eq, gate/expansion on each channel and also midi as well as 2 effects buses. It sounds good and has given me no hassels.

I have an m-audio interface but the drivers stop working sometimes for no reason, seen other people online complaining of their drivers. I don't recommend m-audio. Also, a lot of people are complaining about the akai eie pro, you definitely should not get that.

been happy with my mackie onyx blackjack.

it's small and well built, and sounds good. I like the headphone amp on it, I use it for listening to music in my room.

But it's supported out-of-the-box on mac (which I have), so I dunno about any drivers or anything for windows.
Also, it's capped at 24bit 48kHz. (probably perfectly fine for most people...)
