I don't mix, make beats for most part. Got event ps8 (equivalent to old event20/20), for $250 got no complaints. I know few cats around here rock 20/20s. I was going to pick up Maudio bx8 joints but was suggested events over those.

It seems like you are set on the 20/20s, but just to add my 2 cents. I just recently upgraded from the Event TR8s to the Adam Audio A7X and first listen at Sam Ash I was hooked. I went with these because the gloss looked was different and caught my eye. It was between the A7Xs and Dynaudio BM6A. I thought the smaller woofer would be a disappointment, but these bang harder and louder than the TR8s even at lower volumes. They are flat. The front on/off switch was a plus because I got tired of reaching around the back to turn on my monitors. I can't wait for school to be over so I can mix on them. I'm thinking about adding a Sub7 or Sub8 in the future just gonna see how well the bass translate when I mix.

Thanx for all the responses and advice guys. I did finally end up going with my first choice, which are the Event 20/20 BAS V3's. I can honestly say that even though my decision was, for the most part (not all) budget driven, I am deliriously happy with these monitors! Upon first powering them up and sending a signal through them, although lights years better than my old Tapco's, they did not wow me as I had hoped. After deciding to let them burn in for about 10 hours at a moderate (wife hating) level, WOW!
!!!!!.I know that without a doubt, there are better monitors out there (I dream of the Opals or Focals) but for the money, ESPECIALLY after the $200 price drop ($900-$700), I am a happy dude! Bass extension is quite proper even before LF attenuation. Mids and highs are better than I could have hoped for and getting better each time I sit in down front of them. IMHO, the 20/20 V3's are winners guys.
