using my mpc with reason

i have
reason 1.1
mpc 2000
audiophile 2496 sound card

i got my my mpc running reason but i cant record my samples(or drums)
into reason. if anyone can help i would appricate it

As far as I know you can't record in reason. You can use it with other audio progs using ReWire which is free from their website. Also you can use wave files in the samplers and drum machine in reason I believe.

reason doesn't record it's only a sequencer so you can only record midi input into reason, why don't you try Sequencing a 4-8 bar loop in reason, EQ it then sample it into your MPC and do the rest from there.

just use reason as a sound module and use redrums for drums. Then u can still make ur beat on the mpc, the drums, then record the midi to reasons sequncer then use the pads to control the synths and samplers and reason sequing.

does anyone know how to use rewire?

rewire....dont that allow Cubase and other Sequencers control Reason?
i remember that in Cubase there is a Sync function that lets u select rewire and to what port etc...very vague in my memory cause i hardly ever use dem damn pc programs for music! anyway the Reason website has a tutorial n how to do it.

ReWire has nothing to do with the MPC so ignore it, its merely a protocol to sync programs together in a master/slave configuration.

You can use the MPC to control Reason, which is the best thing about it all. Use your MPC as usual, but use the Midi Out power of the MPC to control synths, samples, virtual samplers and more in Reason.

It opens up a whole new palette of sounds and routing and etc etc etc

how do you record beats if you dont have any outboard recording gear?

u could rewire with cubase or nuendo to record the audio, without outboard gear
