Anybody else running legacy windows?

i run xp in virtualbox (free) mainly for foobar.

if you dont know, foobar is probably the best media player / file conversion / file tagger / file renamer / whatever else you hack it to be via plugins i've ever seen.

Trying to get my hands on win xp 64 bit atm. I'm at a dead end with win 7.

My main gripe right now is win 7 doesn't work well with my motu mtp. The gui crashes everytime it's opened and motu support has no answers to resolving this issue either.

Done been through ordering & replacing the intel rom upgrade they offer for the av, but still no dice.

So it's off to grabing a copy of the ol trusty xp once again I guess.

Got XP running on one of my Satellites. Got no updates or internet hooked up to it, its practically virginal from the outside world. I use it mainly for my SP-606 with P606 and Audacity. And to transfer files from and to the MV8800.

Still on XP (SP3) and no plans for upgrading any time soon.

I've got XP (SP3) on my VAIO laptop and Win 7 Ultimate on my Mac Book Pro partition. Honestly I still prefer XP which stable as ****.

Hey Lamp... I still have that same Audigy breakout audio box too! Thats when I first started learning and using FireWire products.

Win XP coming soon to my MBP, unless I find a really cheap old laptop/mini desktop with the OS installed. Plan is to use it for Aksys, MPC Editor, Wavsnd, Omniflop, Floppy Image and any other OG apps. A built-in floppy drive wouldn't go amiss either (for Omniflop). XP is a handy legacy OS for owners of MPC60/3000 and MPC4000.

I got my old versions of MPCEditor, OmniFlop, Sony CD Architect and Rebirth RB-338 to work on my MBP with Wineskin but now each of the Apps are about 150 - 600MB a piece.

Wow a vanilla PC install of MPC Editor is like 486kbs.

Bought my last Daw in 2005. An XP OS (sp3) that has only been online once or twice to update the service packs. I have also been very careful about what programs I put on it. Still runs like a champ. Where it has shown its age, is when I tried to use more modern software/VSTs on it. To long in the tooth for that.

Still very good for just recording outboard gear though. I may upgrade soon. When I do, I'll garage this system for while since its still so solid (rather than dump it).
