pre-amp with the sm58 or a new condenser

I have an MXL 990 in my arsenal. One of the first mics I bought and still have it. Its durable as long you don't overload it, it'll last. Nice sound to it, I like to crank it until I hear little pops, makes the MC seem like he's chewing on live electrical wire looking like Jaws from that James Bond flick.

For the sake of hygene, yeah get that pop filter.

Good sh*t green i always liked the 990 real crisp and got the option for noise like you say...gonna get one soon just gotta save a little dough

Audio Technica AT3035 is a real nice mic for the price... they're only available used now but i'd recommend it...

i also have a Rode NT1000 which i'm very pleased with as well... but i find myself using the AT3035 more for some reason.
