The maschine controller is a great midi device its like KORE, I use Maschine at the moment just browsing and tweaking stuff on the controller as a sound module without having to have the monitor on and then record into the mpc.

As much as I like the ipad I like to have knobs to tweak and so its just better, if I had more cash I get more hardware but my room is tiny and well I'm happy for now.

IMO it'd be bit redundant to put mpc in the mix n bit cumbersome but as long as it works for you. I'd either use mpc with live or maschine with live but don't recall using mpc alongside of maschine but if it works for you then by all means

Like I said I use Maschine as a sound module, if I'm working in Ableton its Maschine all the way alongside it as its a great controller.

I just midi synced a friends maschine with mpc1000 and was pretty tight. I just slaved it to maschine and off you go, mixed together it was fun. I liked it a lot, and any one with both should try it.
