MPC2000XL MIDI TRANSMISSION \ EXTERNAL SOUND MODULES

Alright guys,

I'm a newbie to the forum, and just recently bought an MPC2000XL. I have an Alesis Micron, An EMU Xtreme Lead 1, and a MIDI controller.

What I am trying to do is play both synths through the MPC:

Micron MIDI out > MPC MIDI IN A...MPC MIDI OUT A > Micron MIDI IN...
MIDI Controller MIDI OUT > MPC MIDI IN B... MPC MIDI OUT B > EMU MIDI IN B...

This seems right...right??

When I play either controller (Micron or MIDI Controller) I hear the synth it is connected to, as well as the corresponding MIDI channel sound on the MPC pad.

I am quite experienced in all MIDI applications, but can't seem to figure this one out...

PLEASE HELP!!!

make sure that you have turned the track in your sequence to midi instead of drum and turn the midi local off on your synths
