adat question

does the adat output send 8 seperate channels digitally,

i am a little confused about it's output

well 2000xl with expansion board appears to only have s/pdif (2 tracks - stereo) I seam to remember reading that the 4000? has ADAT? That should send 8 channels.

Some ADAT pieces can do 8 channels via lightpipe...Some only 2
Spdif is only 2 weather it is light pipe or a RCA

The ADAT option on the 4k sends 8 seperate outs.

so it depends on the particular adat

there is no default output

jus wondering, it will really help when i get new gear, to know what this actually means, 8 out or 2

Everything defaults to ch. 1 and 2. You have to tell the MP to uee the the other outputs. Just like on the 8 analog out.
