Mpc Renaissance Akai S950 combo?

Pfff, just spent the whole day constructing a beat in the mpc's standalone software. I used s950 for drums and bass and played the other instruments with 3rd party AU plugins. Saved it and closed the project, opened DAW to record the s950 ingredients into an audio file and to transfer it into the standalone software. Opened the standalone and no files saved for the 3rd party AUs. Nice...

It would be perfect for me to make music with the s950 and the MPC Studio. Now I can't because you can't send midi out while working in plugin mode in DAW. And when you use the standalone software you can't save your patches in most of the virtual instruments.


Is there a way to get my desired workflow going? Please help!

Record what you have (probably the drums) into your DAW first just like you described in the previous post I quoted. If you can only record two tracks at a time program a bar of hihats on each track prior to the start of your beat. This way you can sync them manually in your DAW. Then record the ren part over your S950 tracks into your DAW.

It's a bit of a workaround but it gives you what you need.

How does the mpc60 mode on the Ren compare to the 950? ....how about the sp1200 and sp1200 ring mode vs the s900 sound?
