MPC 2000 XL + Ableton Live + M Audio Uno

Hey guys,
I have a MPC 2k XL, a EMU 202 Tracker Pre Interface and Ableton Live 7.

I want to connect my MPC via a M Audio Uno USB device to my Ableton so i can record (Sync) the tracks from my MPC.

To be honest with you I don´t know a lot about Ableton and its Setup.

Can anybody help me out, what i have to do that my Ableton is recognizing the midi signals from the MPC and
simultaneaously recording the sound from the MPC through my EMU Interface?

1. Open Ableton and go to preferences. That's where you make your MIDI and audio settings. Details in the manual. Note: you may also have to edit your soundcard settings. I can't help you with that.

2. Sync Ableton and your MPC. My advice is to sync them using MTC (works better than MIDI clock). To do that, you have to set both machines to the same tempo, before you activate sync. Choose which one you want to be the sync master and which one you want to be the sync slave, doesn't really matter.

3. Create MIDI and/or audio tracks in Ableton as needed to send/receive audio and MIDI signals between ableton and your MPC.

If I go to Preferences/MidiSync I can choose between the Control Surfaces, which one should i choose.
The Uno device is not listed in there.

Below that, I can find the the Midi Ports:

Input USB Midi 1x1 (my Uno device)
I turned everything on: Track Sync Remote

Do I have to do the same thing for the output aswell?

What is Sync master and Syn slave?

When I go to the Arrangement View in Ableton, I created 2 Tracks
Audio - with the setup of my Interface
Midi - with the USB Midi 1x1 as Input?

You don't have a control surface... Do you? You didn't list one. So, logic says "don't choose any control surface because I don't have one."

Don't be afraid to use your common sense. You (probably ) won't break anything that way....

You're on the right track. The manual describes MIDI inputs and outputs, and the purpose of each of those three buttons and how to use them.

Sync is synchronisation. Like two people dancing together. They are in sync.

You want your MPC and Ableton to "dance together". The master is the person leading the dance. The slave is the person following the master.

That's for you to figure out, but you're on the right track (no pun intended). The purpose and use of tracks is explained in the manual.

Again, don't be afraid to use your common sense. You've asked me some questions that you've already answered for yourself. At a basic level, Ableton does the same things that the MPC does (input, and output MIDI and audio data). So the fact that you're an MPC user means that you already understand what ableton does. The only gap left for you to figure out is exactly how ableton does it.

Are you able to use your mpc as a midi controller in Live?
