Hey,
This is just a quick announcement for those of you who use Renoise in your music making process.
You may recognise me from the Renoise forums as I have written a number of tools previously, but my latest project is something which I believe some people here may be interested in.
The project is pKing for Renoise and is designed to provide a 'hands-on' pad based interface to the Renoise software. It is designed and written for the Korg padKONTROL, which I understand at least some of you own.
The tools allows you to perform many actions directly from the padKONTROL controller, using the pads, buttons, dials and encoder in a similar way to hardware sampler / sequencers. Some of these include:
A couple of quick demonstration videos from the alpha and beta development stages (please excuse my poor song writing skills, I'm primarily a coder than a musician):
You can download the tool and extensive manual from the pKing page on the Renoise website.
As with all my other tools this is completely free to use and since it is built upon Renoise is it completely cross-platform (Mac / Windows / Linux).
For those of you who do not own Renoise but are still interesting in this, note that Renoise Tools (such as pKing) will work 100% on the free demo version of Renoise. The only restriction on the demo version is you cannot render songs to audio files.
Hopefully at least a few of you will find this useful and feel free to leave any feedback.
Thanks!

- Automatic mapping of pads to slices within non-destructively sliced samples
