Too Many MPC's... Is it possible...

Hey ya'all,‘

Ok here is the deal. I have owned the following:
500 (sold)
1000 blue (sold)
1000 black
2000XL
5000

I just got the 2000XL as it was a good price and I never truly played with a legacy mpc. Its sweet. I wanted to start collecting MPC's but i dont have room anymore so I sold 500, 1000 blue. I use the 5000 in the studio regularly and the 1000 if traveling but it is mosltly just sitting around collecting dust.

I fear I must let another MPC go. I am curious what MPC you would keep / sell if you were in my shoes. So here is a poll, lets find out what you thibk. I'm keeping the 5000 for now so it is between 1000 & 2000xl.

Lol, I know many prob think it should be. I decided to keep that one for now since it has the most storage and connectivity options.

Well if you want to keep a mobile option open. It's kind of obvious which needs to go.

Portability, and with JJOS, functionality.

They all do. But they're the AD/DA converters, power supplies, and other board components. No analog filters or anything else in the signal path.

so you're saying they all have this same setup? i was unaware.

I was in your same shoes. You can add the rest of the mpc's minus the 500 and the controllers.

I also had an eps, asr, tempest, emu ultra, sp1200.

Actions speak louder than words, I chose the 4000.

I can do all those things those samplers can do in one unit.

You need a proper working sync to record your tracks period. That is a must. The reason I would keep the 2000 is because the 1000 sync isnt so good with midi.

I would give you the same advice I practice. Sell all of them even the 5000. I do miss the arp on there though. Get yourself a 4000 and learn it.

I have so much about the 4000. I almost got my hands on one before I crapped the 5000 almost 3 years ago. I was thinking earlier today about how nice it would be to get my hands on one. I might have to consider this option more. Dont really use the synth or ARP much on the 5000 so I might not miss out much.

I recently got the MPC studio for portability and I love it and I keep the 4000 at home. I would say sell both the Xl and 1K and buy a mpc studio and ull even have some extra cash left to buy something else (I suggest this if portability if that is what makes or breaks your decision) also this advice is useless if you dnt have a laptop.

Sell all of them and get a 4000.

I think you should keep the xl & 1000 ( for travel ) but if you dont travel alot you should get 2500 instead of 1000 to keep the jjos.

keep the mpc you use most and sell the rest, hardly a brainer plus none of the mpcs you collected so far are of high desire of classic status, no pun intended
