tascam 1082. Only stop button lights up.

Hello,
Does anyone have some experience with the tascam fw 1082?
When i turn on the machine only the stop button will light up instead of ALL the buttons..
Just when i got it to work with protools 10 it breaks

Hope somebody knows what this means.
Btw this also means that my pc won't recognize it anymore thru firewire.

According to a local technician it seems to be a broken FW card in the tascam 1082. He can fix it he says for 117 euros (around 157 dollars).

for this money you can almost buy another second hand unit.


BTW, i just copped myself a Mackie Baby HUI and this thing rocks 100%!
If i knew this before i wouldn't have bothered with this tascam piece of crap.
