whats up need some help, ive had a motif before and everything worked smooth, im borrowing one for about a month until my homeboy goes back to LA, and i cant get this sh!t to work, the MPC isnt even picking up midi notes from the Motif, and the motif isnt picking up the send from the MPC pads either, there is no communication happening (and i aint no truck - i got the cables hooked up correctly) so thing is i think the transmit controls are goofed up on the Motif but i dont got a manual and their forums are locked. So couple questions for the motif owners...

1. Can i reset the motif to factory setup if i royaly fuc shit up.

2. Help me get the midi utility screen setup on the motif. Right now its basic RCV channel on 1 and KBD trans channel on 1.

3. I forgot how to set up a preformance the motif. I cant seem to get to the screen where you can scroll through the channels and select your patch.

4. Can I save a preformance on the Motif with all the midi and patch settings saved or do i need an external zip?

The Mo may be set to transmit via USB.

To check, hit <utility>
<midi (f5)>
<other (f4)>
In the MIDI field, make sure it says <MIDI> not USB.

Dov,

First, make sure your on song or pattern mode, so you can play on the 16 MIDI channels. MPC's track got to be on a MIDI n°, but I know you know :D ...
Go to <utility>then <sync> set <internal>, then go to <other>then set <midi>, and... that's all 8) It should work!

what up, anyone on saving and layering patches?

By Kilowax Fri Dec 24, 2004 2:26 pm
Yep!

Sorry Dov, here we go!

Once you've got your sounds on the right midi channel, you'll have to store the <Pattern> or <Song> on USB or Flash Card. To save your scene (pan/vol...) hit the <store scene> button then <yes>.

Hope that help!
Hey Dov, your on ES or Motif classic?
