Roland A-300 PRO MIDI vs M-Audio Axiom 61 MIDI Controller

I have posted for some advice on what my next equipment should be? This is what I have found to accompany my mpc 2000xl. Roland a-300 $160 and M audio Axiom 61 $100. My budget is $150 and waiting for the roland guy for the offer I made. This would be my first midi keyboard. Advice asap!!

I think I just got the most amazing deal; found the axiom 61 for $50! Now I need to figure out what I can do with my midi and mpc2000xl. So when I connect my mpc 2000xl to my midi can control the samples I chopped up with my keyboard? I've been looking at videos on youtube and trying to figure out why people connect both. My idea of having my midi is to add some piano or synth sounds to my beat. Your thoughts?

Yes.

Vids usually create more questions than they answer. 90% of vids are pure garbage! imo.

yes

The keys will be used EXACTLY like you use your pads. THE WHOLE thing is as if your mpc came standard with keys. All sounds will be IN your mpc. Hit the pads and they play. Hit the keys and they play.

Drums samples, use the pads to bang em out.

Keyboard samples, use the midi keyboard to get a keys feeling, finger those keys.

You can bang out drums on keyboard (some people do) too if you want, it's up to you.

This is exactly correct!! The heading for certain videos start off with some answers but by the end you are left with more questions and begin to doubt if you are even able to produce what you intended. My M-Audio Axiom 61 (1st gen) is class-compliant USB product and works fine with my OS X 10.11 El Capitan immediately, with no need to install or update drivers but my key sounds are a bit low. I haven't recorded anything yet but I hope I can fix the sensitivity of the keys.
