HAVING PROBLEM W BACKGROUND NOISE...

im recording into pro tools and i keep hearing my laptop running thru my monitors...its annoying as hell and its recording in2 my music...could it be that the firewire cable is too long...im using the one that came w my digi 002r...its pretty long should i use a shorter one or is there another fix for this problem??

i had a similar problem. do you have an external soundcard?

also, it could be the USB connections, try unplugging them and if you still hear then it may just be your laptop.

i know when my mpc1000 is connect via usb it has a strange noise, also when i have my external CD burner.

if it still doesn't go away, it may be a sound option. open up volume control on your PC, and then move down/mute any unnessary sliders. open the options -> properties menu, select recording and do the same there. find the PC speaker and mute it. thats how i solved the prolem. it was the PC speaker setting.
