Hi,

I wanted an R8M for some while now and started reading the manual.
When I set up a Midi Programm in my MPC One (V3Beta), should I create my own patch in
the r8m, or should I create a midi program that has the note numbers the r8m uses?

In the past I always used the "old mpc" style note mapping.
Since v3 has some new stuff there, which way to go?

Ussualy i have coulums, the first are kicks, the second snares and so on.
That way i can switch the program easily.

spent 2 hours getting to know this.
But somehow the MPC sends different notes than those who are displayed in padmap edit.
When I press one pad, some other sound gets triggered,
I think there is a system, but i dont get it.

I am using this list:

but it seems the MPC does it different?

it could be that MIDI note nr 48 reads C3 on the MPC MIDI monitor but the Roland "translates/reads" it as C2 - or C4
there's not one standard as to where note nr 0 corresponds (C-2, C0, or even C1 is possible)
you could hook up another keyboard at the same time to see how that triggers the Roland to see what is the (key) shift
-don't rely on generic lists
also the program on the Roland is important (if i remember correctly, it's been +30y since i worked these)
