Whats good people, this site is the best thing since sliced bread!!!!keep it up!! Im just getting into production and i just recently came across a 2000xl studio plus w/zip, s950 sampler and an alesis sr-16 for $1500. Anyways, i have a few questions regarding this setup. Any feedback will be greatly apprecciated!!!

1)Should i buy a keyboard for the s950 or can i use the sr16 or 2000xl to control it.
2)If i sample into the s950(12 bit rocks), do i resample into mpc2000xl(16 bit)
3)Can i control the sr-16 with the mpc, so that im using the drum sounds from the sr-16 to sequence on the mpc.

I hope that im explaining this correctly, im just learning some of the terms and jargon used. MUCH LOVE!!1

1. You don't really need a keyboard if you're just using it to play some drumsamples and maybe a few bassnotes on the s950. You can play them with your mpc's pads. If you're after playing full multisampled piano's or something like that, a keyboard could be better.
2.If you sample into the s950, i would leave the samples in there unless you need the mpc's effects on them. I have two 12-bit samplers as well, and i keep them loaded with samples at all times.
3. Yes you can, and you should. The sr-16 has only 12 pads vs. 64 on the mpc. So you can play 64 samples at a time instead of just 12. Plus the mpc's sequencer is much better.

The only thing you need in this setup is a couple of midi cables and some way of patching all those audio outputs into one channel. I don't know if you own a mixer or something? Even a small mixer would be enough.
