question about Peak for sound design and integrating compute

how do you like it for sound design????? IS it useful for sound design???? Im looking for a program that I can utilize with making music with my MPC XL. DO you have any tips on using computers even if you use a PC I have a friend who used Sound Forge I believe or some PC program I dont know much about Sound Forge and why he used it with the mpc other than looping sounds instead of doing it in the mpc and mastering his music if you use an mpc extensively for sequencing and a computer how do you work with a computer and your MPC or Sound Forge or PEAK???? I also have Logic is Logic or Cubase program more useful for sound design than using a program like PEak or Sound Forge????? Why and why not???? How about utilizing software synths do you sequence it midi or whatever way u have it running with the MPC(do you make midi file that you transfer into Logic Cubase ect.... Im just trying to figure out how im gonna do this here(with the least amount of pain as possible) I know I will eventually but I know I can possibly save my self a huge chunk of change by asking for advice. How do you utilize your MPC XL with your computer and also if you use your software synths with the MPC how do you manage that???!! Describe your workflow with using software synths and the MPC XL.

Well Sound Forge and Peak are two track editors, you will need a Multitrack
Program for Sound Design.
In sound design you will need to Layer different sounds to come up with new ones.
two tracks really wouldn't cut it, those would be good for editing your source material.

Anyway, Check out Audacity if you want a freebie audio editor similar to, but not as easy to use as Peak. It's definitely worth a look see.

Quickie answer:

I use my Mac and Digi001 to sample from vinyl or cassette. I think edit the samples and flip them to the MPC3000 via zip disk. I use MPCPGMMaker to convert the sounds from WAV or AIFF to MPC format.

If you plan to use your MPC and computer you will need a midi interface.
