Basically you can interface your MPC directly to your CDX using RCA cable with 1/4 adapters for the MPC outs. I really don't recommend this.
I would get a mixer if you don't have it and connect the tape out to the l/r line in on the cdx and the master out of the cdx to the tape in of the mixer using RCA cables. This will give you crystal clear digital recording. Then connect your MPC to the Mixer. This will also give you room for expansion if you decide to get other equipment. As you know the CDX-1 can only record 2 tracks simultaneously as long as both of the connections are MIC connections. If you use the same type of XLR you will get mega distortion.
Get a Mackie or Behringer mixer and your problems will be solved..and worth it for music production in the long run.
The CDX was built and tailored for the guitar player, but it can be used for any other instrument if you have the right cable accessories. This is an awesome machine if you can tame it.
All of my tracks are recorded on the CDX-1, but the MP3 format kills all of the wonderful digital sound it produces.
