Pk-6/mk-6 tutorials

Anybody know if there are tutorials on how to make a beat or a song with the emu mk-6/pk-6 type of synth/keyboard? I can sample stuff to my pc but if I wanted to play it live, I would like to see how it is done since it does not sequence. Also does anyone know how to I can use the sub outlets to maybe be more creative? Also I am trying to figure out how to make a soft sequencer control my board via midi. I if I could do that then I would be way more creative. Oh yeah I got the pk-6 for 399 new and got a used phatt rom expansion yesterday for $80. I am eager to learn how to get started.

which one do you have the p6 or mk6? I was thinking of getting one for the sounds... which one is better for hip hop and does it have some nice sub bass sounds on it??

I have the PK-6 with the Pure Phatt Rom expansion. So it is like having both the pk6 and mk6 in one. They are all the same boards different looks and chips but are all expandable. I am kind of new with synths but I like it much better since I got the Phatt rom expansion. Also I came to this forum after doing a search on mk6 and pk6. After I posted my question I realized it was a MPC forum. Oh yeah mk6 is much better for Hiphop. But my combo was cheaper so I have both sounds now. I also like the xk-6's sound too for techno stuff. I will get that chip as soon as I can find another great deal on one.

I own a pk-6 w/phatt rom and Vinatge rom and Ditto to what jg007 saying AFA sounds. Nice. Had the synth since the day they released it. There aren't really any tutorials to my knowledge on how to make beats with it. You can utilize the Arp or beats mode I guess for live applications but it's real limitted in that respect.

Nice subs on the phatt rom. Use Soundforge to process and fatten them up a bit. Some advice on the sub outs is to probably route your basses "dry" to them so you can use a better external effects processor( I use a DP/4 ) definitely does the trick for all the sounds.

Finally, the pk-6 has a good group in Yahoo. They can't teach you to make beats with the Pk but I've got good tips on sound design with the board. It can be a BEAST! Here's the link:
