Anyone doing live with a mpc?

Hi,we are just working on our live project where we will be using the mpc-1000 as the master sequencer, however we wanted to use our tr-909 and 808 on midi clock sync,but there is a delay on the sequences when we do so(when we just trigger the notes from the mpc the timing is ok,we just wanted to have a more live feel when interacting as well with the tr's sequences).Is there any solution to solve the midi clock delay?Thanks

are you using the 909's midi in? this has been known to be problematic when the 909 isn't the master.

Use an external midi to din sync and clock them both from that.

i bought an MPC just to use live. i have a couple now and one stays as backup.

i use MPC as the Master for everything, but having said that i dont take vintage analog gear on stage with me.

do you REALLY want to take your 909 on stage? im assuming its just local gigs and not a tour... id NEVER take analog gear on tour (i had a juno play up at every gig... chips coming out of sockets etc).

id nurture the 909/808 in the studio and just use another MPC if you need to. its probably not what you want to hear but at the very least, you arent going to get perfect sync with the MPC going through the 909 to the 808 you know...

do you have a kenton retrofit or something?

i just thought actually... if you dont mind the expense you have to check out the Xbase09... its an amazing analog drum synth with extremely extensive midi controls, plus lots of realtime knob action. ive seen a couple used live and they are impressive.

Oh man, that Xbase09 is PUNCHY as fukk!!
It hits hard, and it will make more variations on the analog sound than just the 808 and 909 stuff.
I had a Novation Drum Station (808/909 emulator) at one point, but then I heard a guy's Xbase, and it made the Drum Station sound tiny and thin.
I sold it soon afterward.
I wish I could work an Xbase into the budget. :cry:
