Mackie boards

my peoples...im thinking of getting one of them mackie mixers..im leaning towards the 1604-vlz pro....im currently working wit a mpc 2000xl, motif 6, technic turntable, mad crates of records....would yall cats say the 1604 is the right move? all feedback is appreciated..one[/color]

whats up dog your set up sounds kind of like mines with out the record player...i got  mpc and motif and a mackie but mines is the vlz 1202...you cant go wrong with mackie no matter what series it is the sound out of it is great for me.[/color]

I can vouge for the Behringer 1604A, save some money, get the same product. Built like a rock, NO NOISE, 4 sends, 8 inputs, 4 balanced, the bass cutoff is invaluable with the MPC, and nice EQing, I almost bought a Mackie but the sales guy talked me into the Behringer.

mackies will take a beating and laugh..im not so sure about behringer.i hear they use cheaper parts.if you mess with the knobs on both side by side you can tell wich one is gonna wear out.but the cheaper behringers do have built in effects

And in regards to the mixer, I tried the Behringer and Mackie side by side, the knobs feel the same, your paying extra w/ Mackie for the Made in America labor costs.

You are right about MOST Behringer products, they do suck, I had a DSP effects board, I plugged it in once and put it on eBay. Cheap, lightweight, noisy as ####, and hard to operate.

In fact I went into the store with the intent on buying a Mackie, the salesman (who knows me) in the keyboard department had to talk me out of buying the Mackie. To make a long story short he saved me 200 bucks.

Get the 1604VLZPRO. You will need all the inputs you can get. Especially since you will be working with midi instruments. It will be easier to mix. I currently have the 1402VLZPRO but I'm short on tracks when it comes to mixing when it's time to split the mixer channels. With the 1604 you will be able to track to a multitracker with the first 8 channels and use the last 8 as tape returns to mix. It is well worth the investment and it has a high resale value compared to other mixers in its class.[/color]
