This is my studio before and after - I work hard to get what i got in 5months

ok first of all i call my lil studio thats in my bed room the "GYM" cause thats just where we work out at but not with weights but with music. or AKA the "Stujo".
I still live home with moms and pops. its just easier and cheaper that way to get all this stuff in the last 4 months.
this is what i had before

Ok i just got a good paying job so instead of ballin or chasing girls i saved up all summer from june to oct. i sold the djx, 4 track and sp 202 , dr rhythem for 500 dollars....in Aug. i got my MPC 2000 xl then i saved up again and buy Oct. i got the Motif I got a lap top computer too im pay my pops back fro that ever week 100 dollars and it will be paid off in jan. In the Spring ill get a sound card for it.

all in al i work my ass off and still is everytime i get paid i would fill my tank up and save up 200 dollars a week and stay in the house. back n forth to work. thats it. i got everything i need now all i got to do is the upgrades.

werd.  I remember when I was a soft-moore in college and I saved my $$$$$ from my summer job just to buy mad gear.  all my friends were off on LA and on vacatiosn and I was stuck in my folks pad. But at least I had the gear to play with!!!  congrats.[/color]

thanks man...yea! it was like being in jail cause every penny i made went to all....plus i had a plan i would lose my summer but in new york it gets cold so in the winter and theres no where to go and just learn it all and next summer just be backat it thanks.[/color]

I feel u on that.  I was out on my own 2001...fell into some ish, got a DUI and lost my license for over a year.  I was stuck with being back home.  In reality it was a blessing in disguise...I put myself to the grind and copped about 5 g's worth of gear.  (mp2xl-fully upgraded on my own/akai dps 16/Gateway computer/cd burner/Audio technica condenser mic/patch bay/cd burner/alesis drum machine/and a decent vinyl collection).  If it wasn't for that DUI I'd probably still be out dumbin' and only have my boy's mp2000 to occasionally borrow.

ya E.A. aint nothing like having your own stuff so you can just do what you want on it with out worring about this or that person feelings.......when i got that new job...i did want to buy some rims for my truck plus the hunnies was calling but one thing i always knew was everything comes and go from the girls to cars to the cloths and so on but music equipment is a good investment i know next year i can ball out.[/color]

I know I'm a little late ( been on vacation ) but I feel what you went through.
If you look back in the old " off topic " posts you'll see where some of us explained our set-ups.
I remember when all I had was a cheap little $100 keyboard and now......well I still dont have everything I want but I have enough to make songs everyday and it MINE so I aint getting raped by the studio.
There is nothing like being able to make music when YOU want to and without having to watch the clock.
Nice work on the money saving son. I know that's hard.
I made big purchases a few months back and really , it's just a sacrifice that guys like us make.
All of us fools on here are just so dedicated to and in love with music and music making that we put that first and you know what?
I'm not sure that's a bad thing.
