I am new please reply - Suggestions please

I am Mcrob and I have been rhyming for two years now. I have been reading and hearing about how good the mpc 2000 is, and how it can really change how you make hip hop or rap beats. plus I also know that when you purchase it there are no sounds that comes with it. I got a problem though, what should I buy afterwards? should i get a turnable and buy like 20+ records and start being imaginative because after i buy the mpc 2000 i will be broke! Any advice would be apprecated.[/color]

your mpc should come with a few akai disks with sounds at least my 2000 did.theres no rules to conform to you can sample off cd,tape,dvd,vhs,atari,coleco,microphone,computer anything that makes sounds.borrow someone's deck and records if you can,or bring the mpc to them in exchange for beats.sometimes being broke forces you to be more creative.[/color]

Thats how I started i just had a 2000 and nothing else. The disks that akai sent with the sampler were pretty lame. But that was like 5 yrs ago. I'm sure the beats they send with the MPC now are alot cooler. Also make sure you spend the extra $$ and get the effects board for your sampler. It will add alot of spice to your beats.  Peace[/color]

You don't need to spend much at first. The sounds that come with your MPC are not that great, but it's a start. Then go visit all your friends who might have turntables and records, and sample anything you can get your hands on.
You can even sample from cd's if you don't know anyone with vinyl.[/color]

Go to thrift shops for records and also hit the dollar bins at record shops.  Also hip hop and rap beats are the same thing.  Hip Hop is a culture and rap is an element of that culture.[/color]
